I gained valuable experience working at a larger studio, where I had the opportunity to contribute to the quality assurance (QA) process for environment and character assets. This role was within a VFX company and involved working on an exciting project that was yet to be released.

As part of the team, I directly supported an experienced environment lead, collaborating closely with them to ensure high-quality deliverables. Additionally, I took the initiative to automate certain aspects of the QA process, resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness.

During the summer of 2020, I joined a prestigious VFX company as an 3D Asset artist. I've worked alongside some of the best industry professionals available on exciting and diverse projects ranging from Scifi to Medieval Fantasy to Modern Cityscapes

As an Asset Artist, I was in charge of handling certain digital assets through most stages of production; included but not limited to the Design, Modelling, Texture work, LookDev and Layout of a wide range of assets with varying levels of detail.

While I was initially hired solely for asset production, it soon became clear that my use could be better placed in tool production and more specifically Tech Development. During my time at Mr.X and later MPC, I've built a multitude of scripted tools which aided in our multi-purpose workflow along with communicating directly with leads and supervisors to establish the correct concept from the beginning till the end of production

Passing On Knowledge

As a "Sensei", my profession entails creating my own courses which bend to the needs of each "ninja", or pupil, to teach them the best practices for a plethora of necessary modern skills, such as computer programming, engineering, art and design.

I am not simply parroting work written by other teachers. As a team coming from diverse backgrounds, it is our responsibility to create course work and structure our class to the individual student rather that trying to fit our ninjas into a cookie-cutter mold

When I am not conducting students in a classroom setting, it is my duty to research up and coming technology ranging from new AI tools to database mining and create course curriculum which is digestible for students

Crafting in Digital Space

Upon reaching out to artists and designers in creative field, I came across an awesome duo working on a VR/AR imaginitive concept game with a fantastic narrative which really caught my attention. After engaging with some of their tools, I took up a contract to work this exciting new project

While my main roles were specialized into designing the environment where users would find themselves, it was not uncommon for me to find myself working on character armour assets or vehicular designs based on the concept art. As a team, we were each responsible for managing our own documentation which included concepts, colour theory and geo referencing

During the summer, I joined a team mid-project and,with  collaboration with key artists, I was responsible for the modelling, texturing and animation of a multitude of game assets ranging from character weapons, environmental vegetation and game level props

Fitting The Mold

Early in my career, right after graduating high school, I was fortunate to secure a remote full-time role that provided me with invaluable experience in my field. In this position, I was responsible for creating interior assets to populate an engaging in-game level. Working closely with the art director, I actively collaborated to ensure that the game's theme, color palette, and art style were effectively realized. By taking inspiration from the captivating concepts crafted by the company's talented digital artists, I was able to develop consistent and visually appealing art and assets that seamlessly blended with the game's overall aesthetic.

This role allowed me to gain practical insight into the creative process, strengthen my skills in asset creation, and work closely with a team of professionals. It was an invaluable opportunity that solidified my passion for this field and laid the foundation for my future endeavors.

Getting My Feet Wet

Shortly after graduating from high school, I secured a contract position with a mod studio that I had long admired. Armed with my newly acquired computer rhetoric and programming skills in C# and C++, I joined their team during a critical phase of development. Their current milestone focused on a significant overhaul of the UI and Menu system that had been previously implemented.

In this role, I took charge of programming menus based on the art team's concepts, ensuring a seamless integration of their vision into the game. One of the highlights of this project was the creation of a fully functional inventory system, which added depth and interactivity to the gameplay experience.
